Children's Privacy
Last updated 5 July 2026 · Version 1.0
Children deserve the strongest protection for their personal data. This notice explains, in plain language, how KidzSync handles information about children and the choices parents and centres have.
Children don't use KidzSync directly
KidzSync is an app for adults — parents, guardians and childcare staff. Children do not create accounts, sign in, or interact with the app. Information about a child is recorded by their centre and by their own parents/guardians.
Lawful basis & parental consent (GDPR Article 8)
Under the GDPR, where we or a centre rely on consent to process a child's personal data in an online service, that consent must be given or authorised by a person with parental responsibility until the child reaches the digital age of consent. That age is 16 by default and is set by each EU/EEA member state between 13 and 16 (for example, it is 16 in Ireland). Centres confirm they have the necessary parental consent before recording a child's data, and KidzSync provides tools to capture and manage those consents.
What we never do with children's data
- No behavioural advertising and no ad networks.
- No profiling or automated decisions that significantly affect a child.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the children's experience.
- No selling or renting of personal data — ever.
This mirrors the requirements of both European rules (GDPR-K) and, for any users in the United States, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which requires a clear notice, verifiable parental consent, and parental rights to review or delete a child's information.
Parents are in control
A parent or guardian can, at any time, review the information held about their child, correct it, restrict certain uses, withdraw consent, and request deletion. Photos can be locked so they are visible only to a child's own family. Contact your centre or email privacy@kidzsync.com, and see Data & account deletion.
Age rating
KidzSync is rated for adults and is not directed to children as end users. If you believe a child has accessed the Service directly, contact us at privacy@kidzsync.com and we will investigate promptly.
